About Dane
Dane Matthew Fante was born on November 3rd, 1997. He was a fun-loving, ambitious boy who evolved into a bright, humorous young man. From a young age Dane had a love for the game of baseball, starting his journey as a child at the tender age of 4 in Mount Holly, where he joined Sacred Heart Youth Baseball program. His passion for the sport only grew stronger as he honed his skills and developed a deep connection to the game.
As Dane’s family relocated to Moorestown, NJ, he seamlessly transitioned into becoming a standout player for his high school baseball team. His dedication and talent on the field didn’t go unnoticed, as he became beloved by his teammates and coaches.
Beyond his athletic pursuits, Dane had a profound love for animals, particularly dogs, and he dedicated his time to serving at local shelters, engaging in charity work that touched the hearts of many in the community. His compassionate nature extended not only to animals but to all those around him, earning him the reputation of being a great brother, son, and role model.
Tragically, at the age of 20, Dane’s promising journey was cut short due to a fatal car accident during his time at Monmouth University. Despite the untimely loss, Dane’s memory continues to live on through the legacy he left behind, embodied by the Dane Fante Foundation.
The Dane Fante Foundation stands as a testament to his spirit, aiming to carry forward his passion for baseball, his love for animals, and his commitment to serving the community. Through scholarships, charitable initiatives, and community outreach programs, the foundation honors Dane’s memory by making a positive impact in the lives of others, ensuring that his legacy remains a beacon of hope and inspiration for generations to come.
